Facebook Bought The Messaging App WhatsApp For $ 16 Billion :

The social network Facebook has just announced the acquisition of the messaging application Whatsapp for $ 16 billion ( 12 billion in equity and $ 4 billion in cash .) The group also plans to pay $ 3 billion in shares to founders Whatsapp and employees over a period of four years after the closure of the operation.
If for any reason the transaction is canceled due to regulatory issues , Facebook will pay a fee of up to $ 2 billion in WhatsApp .
WhatsApp, which has more than 450 million monthly active users , is one of the greatest players in the wars mail today.
Facebook cites some statistics indicating that WhatsApp adds a million users to its service every day , and the total volume of messages on close to that of global SMS traffic network.
 As was the case with Instagram, WhatsApp will continue to operate as a separate business and keep its brand.
Under the terms of the Agreement , Jan Kum , cofounder and CEO of Whatsapp , joined the executive committee of Facebook .
